Bo House A chic, artsy eatery that guarantees to inspire.
One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating," goes the famous quote attributed to Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright and written on the menu of Bo House, a Bohemian style cafe-restaurant located on the upmarket Jumeirah Beach Residence strip amid the clear green sea and The Walk at JBR. Whether you want to enjoy your food/sheesha in the sunshine on a terrace overlooking the sea or in a colorful, trendy atmosphere, Bo House is a sanctuary away from the city and has something for everyone. A young crowd can be seen hanging out in the restaurant at all times engaged in a board game, sipping coffee or engrossed in conversation. The intriguing tone about Bo House is that it offers food for thought, and if the atmosphere isn't enough to get your creative juices flowing, the restaurant operates a book club. They really do have something for everyone. Inspired by the concept of Tachyon or Zero-point energy, every single detail in the design of the venue has been implemented toward the creation of an environment, which promises to aid relaxation and inspire creativity. "Starting with the organic shapes visible all around, from the soft and rounded edges of the tables and the chairs, to the ceiling which features a swirling pattern, the design of the venue works to create a stress-free environment," Bo House management told Arab News. And that it does; it is social, contemporary yet hip chic. The ornate yet gypsy like feel, created through the use of colorful upholstery throughout the venue, brings out the bohemian theme. The floral prints add a dash of color and spirit to the air. Pitted against the backdrop of white walls, the fabrics emanate the restaurant's rich vibe. These elements combined ensure an artistic yet contemporary feel to the venue. Bo House serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For a healthy and tasty salad, try the quinoa and feta salad, which is made of quinoa, feta cheese, grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini and sun dried tomato dressing. Other popular dishes include the grilled John Dory with lemon and ginger sauce, their sumptuous beef burger, and of course, their English breakfast. You can enjoy eggs served with turkey bacon, beef sausage, chicken sausage, potato cake, baked beans, grilled tomatoes and toast. Keeping their food true to its respective country of origin, their ethnic dishes are presented in an authentic manner that is hard to fault. Try their Bo House foul, which is served steaming hot in a clay pot with a side of fresh, hot Arabic bread. Breaded calamari served with jalapenos and a side of tartar sauce is another dish that will not disappoint. Their pastas, depending on what you order, are served with a generous portion of chicken, mushrooms and cream. For dessert, their gelato rules supreme. Freshly made and recently recognized as "The Best Gelato in the World" by the Homemade Gelato Festival, it comes in a variety of flavors including mint chocolate, hazelnut, coffee, stracciatella, tiramisu, vanilla, pistachio, milk chocolate and fior di latte. The gelato can be ordered with their steamy baked chocolate pies, cream caramel or a simple cup of coffee. Be casual and visit without expectations. They say: "Here, we all get together for fun, for love, for a scoop, for no reason, for a word, for a gust of wind, for endless simple facts and emotions." It's true; they do have a word with your appetite.
