Blundering 'legitimate rape' Republican now under fire for calling Democrat rival 'dog'.

Washington, Oct 24 ( ANI ): Republican lawmaker Todd Akin, who was criticized for his bizarre definition of 'legitimate rape', is under fire again for comparing Claire McCaskill, the Democrat he is trying to unseat, to a dog.

"She goes to Washington, D.C., and it's a little bit like, you know, one of those dog (tricks), you know, 'fetch,'" Akin said at a fundraiser.

Adding insult to injury, Akin adviser Rick Tyler weighed in Monday on Twitter, using an obscenity to describe what dog McCaskill would be, "if Claire McCaskill were a dog," Fox news reports.

According to the report, Akin also raised eyebrows for saying McCaskill was not "ladylike" in her 2006 debates.

"Akin continues to offend women, anyone else with a sense of decency," the McCaskill campaign said in response to Akin's dog comment.

Akin, a Missouri Congressman, sparked off outrage in August this year by claiming in a television show that victims of 'legitimate rape' rarely get pregnant.

He said that 'from what I understand from doctors, women's bodies naturally reject pregnancies that result from rape.' ( ANI )
