Blumenthal serves up best bits; Food.

Heston's Ultimate Feast (Channel 4, 9pm) WHAT a deliriously wonderful series this has been, ranging from the dizzy highs of Heston's Willy Wonkastyle feast to the hands-over-the-eyes horror of his gothic food fest.

One of the most unmissable offerings was his 1970s meal, complete with gourmet Pot Noodle and dessert with a genuine flying saucer. How could he top that? Now, Mr Blumenthal looks back at the dishes he created in his first series of incredible banquets, and picks his faves.

The appetiser involves exploring the food trickery of the Middle Ages. He re-invents a classic dish called meat fruit: literally meat disguised to look like fruit, including plums made from bulls' testicles.

His starter is mock turtle soup from his trippy Victorian Feast, including a golden pocket watch which magically dissolves to form the stock for the soup.

Warmed up leftovers they may be, but this 'best of' show is still worth a look.
