Bluegate CEO Manfred Sternberg Appointed to Texas Health IT Advisory Committee.

HOUSTON -- Bluegate Corp.'s (OTCBB:BGAT) CEO Manfred Sternberg has been appointed by the Texas Statewide Health Coordinating Council to the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee. The 11-member Committee was formed in 2005 to establish a long-range plan for healthcare IT in Texas, including the use of electronic medical records, computerized clinical support systems, computerized physician order entry, regional data sharing interchanges for healthcare information and other methods of incorporating information technology to improve patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness. Sternberg is one of only two committee appointees who are public members.

"As the healthcare industry transitions to the Digital Age, Texas is proactively working to establish the proper IT infrastructure and communication with regional health information organizations that will support interoperability between physicians, hospitals, other providers and insurance companies here in Texas, as well as nationwide," said Manfred Sternberg. "My work with Bluegate, which connects more than 1,100 independent physicians onto a secure network with hospitals and other providers, provides me with a unique perspective on independent physician practices' and hospitals' IT needs, constraints and concerns that I believe will be valuable to the Health IT Advisory Committee as we establish a long-range plan for healthcare IT in Texas. I'm looking forward to helping Texas set the example for the nation by leveraging the immense potential of IT to enhance patient care and lower costs."
