BluePhoenix awarded modernisation contract in Scandinavia.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-29 December 2008-BluePhoenix awarded modernisation contract in Scandinavia(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

BluePhoenix Solutions (NASDAQ: BPHX), a company specialising in IT modernisation projects, announced on 29 December that it has been awarded a contract by a 'large Scandinavian bank' for the modernisation of the bank's IT systems.

The work for the unnamed bank will involve the modernisation of the bank's Mortgage Loan application from a Unisys ClearPath system to an IBM mainframe, with the database being transferred to a DB2 relational database.

Work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2009.
