Blue Arrow adding its support for Olympians; JOBS & NEW DIRECTIONS.

TOP Coventry recruitment specialist Blue Arrow has partnered with the British Olympic Association in a groundbreaking three year programme to help elite athletes find flexible employment with local companies.

The Cross Cheaping-based company is working with other Blue Arrow branches nationwide as Official Recruitment Partners for Team GB and The Olympic and Paralympic Employment Network (OPN) - a support programme for top athletes.

The Coventry partnership, which will operate during this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond, will be the first time that the recruitment industry and local businesses have supported the British team at the highest level.

Blue Arrow will run the recruitment element of the OPEN programme, providing a link between sport and the corporate sector and helping athletes to continue their careers while achieving their sporting aspirations.

The collaboration will see Blue Arrow liaise with local athletes and OPEN member companies from within and beyond its Coventry client base to facilitate work placements.

The company will also manage an OPEN website where athletes can promote their CVs and employers can advertise vacancies.

Kevin Mann, head of marketing, said: "Blue Arrow was chosen by the British Olympic Association for several reasons including our extensive branch network, the wide variety of industries we serve and our company values.

"Working with OPEN and the Olympic movement is a natural fit for Blue Arrow. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to championing flexible work in the UK and placing quality candidates."

Simon Clegg, chief executive of the British Olympic Association, added: "OPEN seeks to provide the UK's elite athletes with the opportunity to achieve a successful career path while reaching their personal ambitions in sport.

"The partnership with Blue Arrow means that the programme will become truly national and will provide dedicated support from experienced recruitment professionals for both athletes and member organisations, ensuring an improved standard of service for all involved in OPEN."
