Blowout causes delay.

MOTORISTS heading to Aberdeen faced travel disruption after a lorry suffered a tyre blowout on a major route into the city.

The lorry tyre burst on the A90 just south of Stonehaven this morning.

one lane was blocked as a result of the incident, which took place shortly after 6am.

Another HGV driver stopped to help and Police Scotland officers were also in attendance.

The lorry driver was not injured and the road reopened a short time later.

A police spokeswoman said: "We were called out at 6.15am to a lorry that had suffered a blowout.

"Another HGV (driver) stopped to assist.

"nobody was injured as a result of the incident."
