The Norwegian geographical information and offshore technology group Blom ASA said on Wednesday (20 September) that its Spanish subsidiary will participate in a NOK270m urban cadaster project in Cameroon.

Blom Sistemas Geoespaciales holds a 50% stake in a consortium which is to carry out a two-phase urban cadaster project covering 57 cities in Cameroon.

"The first phase includes mapping acquisition and technology development and will be completed at the end of 2007. The second phase will be completed during 2008-2010 and includes field survey, the implementation of a multi-purpose cadastral information system and technology transfer," Blom said.

The project financing is guaranteed by the Spanish state's development fund.

One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
