Blast kills soldier.

A SOLDIER serving with the Nato forces has been killed by a bomb in Afghanistan.

The serviceman died yesterday in the blast caused by an Improvised Explosive Device.

Next of kin have been informed.

The soldier was on foot patrol at the time, the MoD said.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Wenham, spokesman for Task Force Helmand, said: "Each loss we sustain sends reverberations throughout the brigade.

"Today we mourn the loss of a soldier who died working to make Afghanistan a better place."
