Blair 'Crush IS with our troops'.
BRITAIN must send in ground forces to crush Islamic State to avoid another Brussels-style attack, ex-PM Tony Blair has warned.
He urged Britain to equip and give ground support to allies fighting IS. But he said winning the war against extremism would not be quick.
"This is not just about local forces.
It is a challenge for the West. Ground forces are necessary to win this fight and ours are the most capable.
"But the pain of the casualties in such engagements weighs heavy."
The RAF is bombing extremists in Syria and Iraq but the ex-Labour leader thinks the air war should be waged against all the extremists.
He wrote: "To have allowed IS to become the largest militia in Libya right on Europe's doorstep is extraordinary. It has to be crushed."
