Black marketing, hoarding, smuggling of flour unacceptable: Secretary Food.
GILGIT -- Secretary Food, Burhan Afandi on Thursday said zero tolerance was adopted against black marketing, smuggling and hoarding of flour viz a viz wheat and strict action would be taken against the elements involved in it.
'Any flour mill found guilty of black marketing of wheat, hoarding and smuggling of flour would be sealed and its approved quota would be abolished,' he told media persons.
Two special teams led by Secretary and Director Food were constituted to ensure transparent distribution of wheat in all districts besides preventing black marketing, hoarding and smuggling of flour in the province.
He said that raids in presence of people were conducted at different flours mills at Ghazir district on Jan 21 where black-marketing was caught besides registration of FIRs against owners of flour mills and dealers on the spot.
The Secretary said directives have already been issued for displaying of details of wheat stock and areas' population on offices of civil food supply, depots and flour dealers shops for convenience of the people.
Afandi said the Assistant Commissioners were directed to ensure transparent distribution of wheat, flour and conducted raids accompany with magistrates to bring culprits to justice.
