Black has edge at Cartworth.

GAVIN Black gained the overall win in the Huddersfield Falcon club's AA Westerby Trophy Trial.

Based around Cartworth Moor a mixture of old stone quarries, rocky streams and muddy banks lay in wait for a quality field.

Winner Black, from Sheffield, lost a total of eight points to pip Falcon rider Andrew Jackson who lost his chance of a win with a maximum 15.

Falcons now have a short break before their next club championship trial on October 17 at Kirby Woods, Flockton.
