Black and Whites for striker?

Byline: EXCLUSIVE BY CALLUM LAW

WANTAWAY Peterhead striker Shane Sutherland was today on the verge of sealing a return to Elgin City.

The 28-year-old was placed on the Blue Toon's transfer list last month having failed to settle at Balmoor after rejoining the club for a second spell in January from Elgin.

The Evening Express understands the Buchan outfit have accepted a bid from the Borough Briggs side for Sutherland.

Now it is up to the attacker to agree personal terms and complete the switch.

Earlier this week Sutherland indicated that Elgin were his preferred club if he was to leave the Blue Toon.

The Moray outfit had a first offer rejected by Peterhead, while Cove Rangers saw a bid accepted. But Sutherland knocked back the chance to join the Granite City outfit for their first season in League Two.

Forfar, Brechin, Stenhousemuir and Highland League clubs have also shown interest in the former Inverness Caley Thistle player.

But Sutherland now seems destined for a fourth spell with Elgin in League Two after the latest developments.
