Black Country News: Young musicians to play with a true jazz legend; WALSALL.

TALENTED young musicians will share the bill with a jazz legend at a concert next week.

Acker Bilk, pictured, will perform at Walsall Town Hall in Leicester Street on June 6. The evening starts at 7.30pm. But the show will also give members of the Walsall Youth Jazz group the chance to shine when they perform on the night.

Coun Louise Harrison, Walsall Council cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: "This is a fantastic chance for some of our best young players to perform on the same stage as a true jazz legend.

"Acker Bilk is a household name and I'm sure that playing on the same bill will be a fantastic experience.

"We're very proud of our talent here in Walsall and I'm sure that Acker will be suitably impressed."

Tickets for the Acker Bilk concert are priced pounds 9 and pounds 7. They are available from the council's box office on 0845 111 2900.
