Revellers at a rave were left baffled when a man started reading a book as people danced around him.

Footage shows the man engrossed in the novel as he stands on a set of stairs at Motion in Bristol.

The clubgoer, wearing a white t-shirt and black and red shorts, didn't seem distracted by the loud music and one eyewitnesses says it "must've been a proper page turner".

But he had to stop reading and rejoin the crowd below when a security guard approached him and told him to come off the stairs, theBristol Postreports.

People are sharing the most inappropriate times they've ever laughed - and it gets uncomfortable

The bizarre scene unfolded during DJ Marky's set at the annual Hospitality BBQ which ran from midday until 10pm on Saturday.

Revellers' focus on the stage shifted to the stairs when they noticed a man stood still and looking engrossed in a book.

A security guard soon approaches him and asks him to come down.

The man complies begins to walk down the stairs.

But he suddenly stops and shows the book to the guard, appearing to point at one of the pages.

Eyewitnesses told how they noticed the strange sight during the DJ's set when one man in the crowd started laughing.

One said the book "must've been a proper page turner" because the man appeared "pretty engrossed" in it.

It sparked speculation that the man hates drum and bass or the book was just too good to put down.

The eyewitness said: "We were enjoying Marky's set, which we'd been looking forward to all day, then my mate turned around and started laughing.

"I asked what he was looking at and that's when I saw this guy reading a book on the stairs.

"I'm not sure what he was reading but it must've been a proper page turner as he was pretty engrossed in it.

"Either that or he hates drum and bass. If that's the case he was probably at the wrong event."
