Bishops row rumbles on.

A CHURCH of England diocese has passed a motion of no confidence in the General Synod over its failure to approve the ordination of women bishops. Members of the Bristol Diocesan Synod, which is the governing body of the Church in the south-west, also reaffirmed its support for women bishops and called on the House of Bishops to explore every avenue to achieve this.

The legislation to introduce women bishops was passed in the General Synod Houses of Bishops and Clergy but ws rejected the House of Laity.

The outgoing Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said the vote had ''lost the church credibility''.
