Bishop bashes abortion.
A CHURCH of Ireland leader has attacked the "systemic spinelessness" of the law in the aftermath of the X abortion case.
Bishop Michael Burrows said the failure to draw up legislation on the controversy, and in relation to other issues including human embryology, had left doctors, lawyers and others floundering.
He added it reflected a hypocritical and "ostrichlike approach" by politicians.
The bishop made the remarks in a homily delivered to a packed congregation that included the Papal Nuncio and senior judges at a service in St Michan's Church of Ireland in Dublin to mark the opening of the new law term.
