Bishop Rufin laid to rest.

ISLAMABAD -- The funeral of Bishop Rufin Anthony was held at the St. Joseph's Cathedral, Lalkurti, Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

The 76-year-old who died on October 17 was laid to rest at the St. Joseph's Cathedral.

Senior Church figures from all over Pakistan, including heads of various Christian schools, teachers, students and the diocesan board of education officials along with people in masses attended the funeral.

In an address, the fathers spoke of Rufin's commitment to the church and his approach.

It may be mentioned that on February 18, 2010 Rufin succeeded Bishop of Islamabad-Rawalpindi. Bishop Rufin, who served for almost 30 years was born on February 12, 1940 at Khushpur, in Samundari Tehsil of District Faisalabad in Pakistan.

He was ordained on June 29, 1969 as Priest of Faisalabad. On August 4, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI named him Coadjutor for Islamabad-Rawalpindi. Later on September 21, 2009 he was ordained as Coadjutor Bishop of Islamabad-Rawalpindi. On February 18, 2010 he succeeded the Bishop of Islamabad-Rawalpindi.
