Bishop Lifting Products.
Bishop Lifting Products Inc. (BLP) is claiming a pipeline sling record with its completion of a recent order for 64-inch pipeline lowering-in-belts and steel-lined choker belts. Bishop says lowering-in-belts are normally suspended from side-boom tractors to lower oil and gas pipelines into the ground during construction. However, the new slings were used to set water lines into the ground. The company says the slings were sold by its distributor, Proline Pipe Equipment. BLP is divided into three divisions: Bishop Lifting Products Inc., BLP Services and BLP Solutions. Since 1998 the services division has provided offshore and land-based inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, modernization, on-site staffing and lift specialist consulting. The BLP Solutions division features an in-house engineering team equipped to employ the latest design technologies and fabrication techniques to produce custom-lifting devices. 800-972-1041, www.lifting.com.[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED]
