Birthday of 12 Thalassemic children celebrated.
Karachi -- The Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer and Trustee of Help International Welfare Trust (HIWT), Faisal Zahid Malik has shown his affection with the children suffering from the disease of thalassemia.
He was speaking as one of the chief guests at the birthday ceremony of 12 Thalassemic children at 'Unsung Thalassemic Heroes Dream Treat' jointly organized by the Help International Welfare Trust and the Pakistan Air Force at PAF Museum on Sunday. Faisal Zahid Malik extends his support for the very cause to fight Thalassemia and the Help International Welfare Trust. He said his organization-Pakistan Observer would provide support to the HIWT and Thalassemic children.
He said, 'I feel good with the children at the Unsung Thalassemic Heroes Dream Treat to join their birthday ceremony. Earlier, Faisal Zahid Malik cut the cake of those children and celebrated their birthday. He also brought gifts for the children. On the occasion, leading rice exporter, Rahim Janoo offered his help in constructing the new building of HIWT.
He admired the untiring efforts of HIWT volunteers. President Pakistan Food Association, Rafiq Rangoonwala said we have provided the moments of happiness to these children. He also extended his support to the cause of Thalassemia. The Director of Help International Welfare Trust, Iftikhar Ghazali said the HIWT is providing help to 125 patients of thalassemia. Of these 9 patients belong to far-flung areas of Balochistan. Today, we have celebrated the birthday of 12 patients of Thalassemia. A large number of Thalassemia patients and their family members including leading members of business community and philanthropists were present on the occasion.
