Bioenergy association launches in California; promotes bioenergy generation.

A new bioenergy organization has been officially launched at a reception held recently in Sacramento, Calif.

The Bioenergy Association of California was founded by companies and groups interested in promoting bioenergy generation from organic waste in California, including the American Biogas Council, Biogas Equity2, the California Association of Sanitation Agencies, California Bioenergy, CleanWorld, Harvest Power, CR&R, Phoenix Energy, MT-Energie USA, Placer County Air Pollution Control District, The Prasino Group, The Climate Trust, TSS Consultants, Waste Management and West Biofuels.

The BAC's executive director is Julia Levin, former Deputy Secretary for Climate Change and Energy at the California Resources Agency, according to a BAC news release.
