Big Commercial Deal

Have you heard about a local play to acquire the Freeway Medical Building, located off I-630 near University Avenue in Little Rock?

We promised not to name any names just yet, but if all goes well the nine-story office condominium project will have a new owner by January.

The price tag is said to top $6 million and finish out costs could bump up that figure half again as much. The proposed acquisition involves 75 percent of the building.

The project, developed by Sidney Weniger and constructed by Pickens-Bond, is under the umbrella of the RTC.

Some might recall that the property was once home to another illfated development, the Circus Bazaar -- a three-level shopping center that was never completed and also went through foreclosure.
