Big O Tires.

Englewood, CO-based Big O Tires has entered into supply contracts with both General Tire and Kelly-Springfield, who collectively will supply 1.5 million tires to the 400-outlet tire chain. Big O is switching to American-produced tires for all its stores, effective July 1, 1992. The company cited increasing difficulty in receiving adequate supplies of tires from South Korea, improved cost-competitiveness of U.S. tire manufacturers and the desire for a "buy American" marketing campaign as reasons for the switch from South Korean suppliers - namely Kumho and Hankook. Big O will sell the tires under its private brand name.
