Bid to expel 50 Muslim extremists.

UP to 50 Muslim extremists face the boot from Britain in a new crackdown by Home Secretary Charles Clarke.

He has told officials to speed through paperwork on deportation orders so that swoops on foreign-born terror sympathisers can go ahead in the next few weeks.

A senior Home Office source said yesterday: "We're working on a long list of suspects."

Those ordered out will be held in jail pending their deportation. But human rights lawyers are set to challenge the deportations.

Details of the latest clampdown comes after ten Islamic extremists were held in police raids earlier this month.
