SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 2000

E-commerce services provider Beyond.com(TM) (Nasdaq:BYND) today announced year-long renewals of large enterprise software contracts for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA). The NIMA renewal is for the third year of a four-year, $8.3 million contract to electronically distribute software upgrades and updates throughout the agency. The BEP exercised its option for the second year of the five-year, $1.7 million agreement with Beyond.com and PlanetGov, formerly Intellisys Technology Corporation of Fairfax, Va.

The contracts allow for the electronic delivery and maintenance of software to more than 7,000 desktop clients and numerous servers within NIMA and the BEP. The BEP contract covers licenses for Microsoft's Windows NT Server, Windows NT Workstation, Office Professional, Project Exchange Server 5.5 and other BackOffice software, along with additional products for Bureau of Engraving employees.

The NIMA contract covers the Microsoft products, as well as a variety of software titles such as MapInfo, JetForm, WinZip and others. NIMA was Beyond.com's first government enterprise agreement, signing an initial contract for software delivery in 1996.

"The NIMA and BEP renewals prove that our team and services consistently perform in the market," said Don Beery, vice president and general manager of Beyond.com's Government Systems Group. "The government's continued confidence is evidence that Beyond.com provides unparalleled value within the industry. It's assuring to know that two organizations with very different operating objectives recognize our value and continue to express confidence in our capabilities."

The contracts allow the BEP and NIMA to utilize Beyond.com's Automated Tracking of Licenses and Software (ATLAS) technology to distribute, manage and support products across the Internet to their various sites. Atlas is a proprietary technology service, developed by Beyond.com, to ease the burden of deployment, management and maintenance of software throughout government agencies. Under terms of the contracts, the BEP and NIMA may also use Beyond.com as their Web-based store for the electronic purchase of additional Microsoft products.
