Beware, trouble calling again...

Byline: Denis Kilcommons Looking at life with our ever-popular columnist denis.kilcommons@yahoo.co.uk

WATCH out. There's another scam about.

Roger Gill, of Lepton, says: "This last couple of days I have had three calls beginning with the claim: 'I am calling from BT' (or words to that effect).

"The reference to BT is the new twist and gives authenticity to the call.

"The caller gives an English type name but speaks with a foreign accent. He/she then goes on to say that my internet will be cut off within two hours due to bad things coming from my computer.

"I decided to ask a security question. Please tell me my account number to prove you are from BT. After a bit of blustering I was eventually quoted my postcode.

"To my mind, proof enough that this is another scam. Time to hang up on them."
