Better monitoring of water activity.
Two types of water activity monitor are offered: one is for benchtop use in a laboratory and the other is a portable device for applications indoors and outdoors.
The benchtop Decagon Aqualab is easy to use and includes features such as auto ranging, self-diagnostics and a facility for continuous monitoring. The Aqualab measures water activity samples quickly (readings are less than 5 minutes) and accurately (to within +/- 0.003 aW). Integral sample temperature control of the samples is also an option.
Where portability is required, the Decagon Pawkit is fast, accurate, has a wide measuring range and is easy to use and clean. Accessories available for the monitors include PC software, a volatiles sensor, protective travel cases, a printer, sample cups and calibration verification standards.
Temperature, thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity and thermal diffusivity can all be measured quickly and easily using the Decagon KD2 thermal properties meter. This instrument has a robust sensing probe and suits applications in food product design, research and development and is vital in predicting processing times such as cooking, thawing and freezing.
