Beth Israel expands.

A hospital's growing pains continue to have a healthy impact on a Manhattan office building.

In an expansion move, Beth Israel Medical Center has leased another full floor at 215 Park Avenue South, the distinguished Beaux Arts building owned by S.L. Green Real Estate.

The new space, comprising the entire 15,000-square-foot 12th floor, will serve as an addition to the Hospital's administrative offices already located on the third, fourth and fifth floors of the 300,000 square foot tower. With its new addition, Beth Israel now occupies 60,000 square feet in the building.

Gerald Nocera, of S.L. Green's leasing department, represented the building's ownership in the transaction,

The opportunity to expand presented itself when the space's previous tenant, Mason Tenders District Council, recently purchased a nearby building at 32-36 West 18th Street. Indicative of the close relationship it enjoyed with its former landlord, the Union just appointed S .L. Green as that building's leasing and managing agent.
