Best of this week's: Pick your all-time ad; FROM SR TO LAVVIE HEID HOGMANAY, STV, 11.15pm & 12.10pm.

The Cadbury's Smash Martians, the man whose job kept him permanently attached to a lavvie and cistern and Leonard Rossiter splashing Joan Collins with Cinzano are all on the menu for this nostalgic look back at 50 years of TV advertising.

STV's 2007 golden jubilee prompts the station to see out the old year (either side of Hogmanay Live) with a two-part countdown of the best 50 TV ads ever, as voted on by industry movers and shakers including lingerie tycoon Michelle Mone, advertising agency boss Sue Mullen and Sunday Mail columnist Billy Sloan.

Classic ads for Irn Bru, Guinness, Hamlet cigars, Volkswagen and Ferrero Rocher jockey for position along with the Gibbs SR toothpaste ad that was the first ever shown on ITV.

Viewers can cast their own votes on ( /ads).
