Best bite.

Sometimes the simplest dishes are the very best. Take the roasted corn chowder at the new Cru on Main Street.

Cru is basically a wine bar/bistro, with the top-of-the-menu item being the chowder. Expect to be knocked out by its clear, clean flavors. Roasted corn and smoked bacon join forces in a chicken stock thickened with cream after being touched with some garlic.

How's that for simple? Just like you'd make it at home, right? Then how come it's so much better when chef Malin Parker (formerly of Fred's) touches this dish? Because talent counts when it comes to balancing flavors. You'll realize that again when you try the chowder along with a glass of one of the dozens upon dozens of wines available by the glass at Cru.
