Bertolli, Jenkel top Destination prod'n.
HOLLYWOOD Destination Films has appointed John Bertolli and Brad Jenkel co-heads of production, the company announced June 15.
Bertolli and Jenkel, who worked under Destination chairman Steve Stabler at the Motion Picture Corp. of America, will be inhouse producers for Destination. Like a number of other execs, they moved to Destination when Stabler formed it last year out of the ashes of MPCA and Orion Pictures.
The duo will be responsible for bringing in material, developing it and overseeing the company's entire production slate. They will also supervise physical production of all film projects from inception through post.
They will report to Stabler and Destination chief operating officer Brent Baum.
While Destination is a domestic distributor, its primary focus is on producing rather than acquiring pics. "John and Brad's strong relationships with industry and creative talent, coupled with their vast production experience, will help us produce original and successful feature films," Baum says.
Bertolli was senior VP of production at MPCA, where he produced "Music From Another Room" and "Gang Related," and exec produced "Beverly Hills Ninja" and "Kingpin."
Jenkel was exec VP of production at Orion and prior to that an exec at MPCA. He was involved with pics "Threesome," "Ninja," "Albino Alligator" and "Dumb and Dumber."
