Bernstein RE to open fashion district division.

Bernstein Real Estate, a Manhattan-based commercial management and brokerage company, announced the formation of a new leasing division catering specifically to the fashion industry.

Known as the Fashion Industry Specialists, the new group will specialize in showroom, loft, office, and retail leasing, transactions.

Bernstein Real Estate, headed by Asher Bernstein, is currently the managing and leasing agent of Fashion Tower, a 25-floor, 170,000-square-foot building at 499 Seventh Avenue. The building is currently 92 percent occupied.

The Fashion Industry Specialists will be headed by Richard Price. Promotions and new appointments include: * Richard Price, 43, vice-president, promoted to division head. Price has been with Bernstein Real Estate for more than seven years, and has concentrated on the leasing of Fashion Tower * Dean Coelho, 25, has been with Bernstein Real Estate working as a leasing broker in the Garment Center * Scott Schuster, 23, newly hired by Bernstein Real Estate

* Elliott Weinstein, 48, newly hired by Bernstein Real Estate, will be the division's retail and showroom specialist. Formerly an assistant vice president with Helmsley Spear, Weinstein has more than years experience as a promotional broker in the Garment Center.
