Benjamin is denied after spirited display in final; Tennis: Thongsbridge youngsters lead way in mini-tournaments.

YOUNG players at Thongsbridge Tennis Club are competing in mini tennis tournaments across the county.

On Saturday Benjamin Horner (eight years) competed in an Under 9 Orange tournament at Carnegie and fought his way to the final with three wins, before losing in the final 6-10, 3-10.

Last weekend Finn Murgett (six) competed in an Ariel County Under 8 Red Tournament at South Leeds, winning the main event with some exceptional tennis.

Benjamin Horner came fourth losing to Finn in the semi-final.

Over at Batley Tennis Centre Finn's sister Bronte Murgett competed in an Under 9 Ariel County Tournament, narrowly losing in the semi-final.
