Benefon Oyj wins USD10m order in the US.

NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-9 February 2007-Benefon Oyj wins USD10m order in the US(C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Finnish wireless and GPS technology company Benefon Oyj said on Friday (9 February) that the US company Travel Safety Group has placed an order worth in excess of USD10m for Benefon's TWIG mobile navigation device.

The first shipments were made over the past two months, with the remainder of the volume to be shipped during the first half of 2007.

Benefon said that Travel Safety has launched the GEOS System, a range of travel safety and travel security services which use Benefon's GPS technology.

Benefon's GPS cell-phones will be used to support the GEOS operations in the United States. The TWIG Discovery and the new TWIG GPS Locator have been integrated into the patented GEOS System.

Benefon, headquartered in Salo, Finland, is a leader in GSM+GPS mobile telematics equipment and solutions. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.97 US dollars (USD).
