Benefits paid on different day this month.

BENEFIT payment dates will change later this month because of the August bank holiday.

The UK - except for Scotland - will have a bank holiday on the last Monday of August - the 26th.

The Department for Work and Pensions has let people know their money will appear on different dates this month.

"If a payment date is on a bank holiday or a weekend, customers will be paid on the last working day before the bank holiday or weekend," it explains.

If the payment is late, check the date on your award notice and contact your bank before getting in touch with HMRC.

If your payment would usually fall on Monday, August 26, you will be paid on the working day before, which is Friday, August 23.
