BenQ aims to be a top-3 maker of LCD TVs in Taiwan.

Taipei, March 31, 2011 (CENS) -- With successful global penetration, BenQ Corp., one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, aims to double sales by distributing between 400,000 and 500,000 LCD TVs this year to be a top-3 producer in Taiwan.

Having established close ties with its affiliateiXBriView Corp., which specializes in TFT-LCD (thin film transistor-LCD) panels, BenQ has advantages in sourcing the flat panels.

After production expansion, BenQ expects a doubling in sales of LCD TVs to China versus struggling for a 20% year-on-year sales growth in Taiwan this year.

Taiwan will likely consume one million to 1.1 million LCD TVs this year. As Taiwan's fifth-largest producer of LCD TVs, BenQ aims to boost market share in Taiwan to 12% this year from last year's 10%.

BenQ supplied 10% of the one million LCD TVs sold in Taiwan last year. With new 3D LCD TV models to be introduced in the second half, the company aims to sell 120,000 LCD TVs this year.
