Being UCH brand ambassador is a call to service -Saidi Balogun.
Against the backdrop of his unveiling as the brand ambassador for the University College Hospital (UCH), ace actor and movie producer, Saidi Balogun, has revealed he would use his goodwill and popularity to project the institution in good light.
Balogun, whose life was saved at UCH about 11 years ago, following a ghastly accident that left him paralysed for three months noted that being its ambassador was a call to service, adding that but for UCH, he would not have walked again.
The actor, who doubles as the president of the Golden Movie Ambassadors (TGMA) maintained that his new role with the institution would not affect his movie roles but rather push him to do more jobs that are health-related and encourage his colleagues to pay attention to their health.
The actor, who was unveiled at the 60th birthday celebration of UCH a few weeks ago, said part of his duties is to sensitise his colleagues on the dangers they face if they fail to go for regular medical check-up, adding 'My role as ambassador will help me to put certain structures that will be of great benefits to my colleagues'.
Balogun added: 'If every entertainer had health insurance package, it would be to curb the unhealthy trend of entertainers begging the public for money when they fall sick.'
