Beer Institute campaigns against beer tax.

The Beer Institute launched a Memorial Day anti-tax effort, designed to take advantage of the Memorial Day Congressional recess.

The Institute provided members with an information packet that included position papers on beer tax and ad warning legislation; the Beer Institute's 103rd Congress Directory and pertinent clippings from the national media.

"The Memorial Day recess is an excellent chance to meet your Congressman or Congresswoman and Senators in your district or state," said Beer Institute president Ray McGrath. "It is critical that you make personal contact with your representatives on these issues.

"Together," McGrath continued, "we must convince our legislators that the beer industry means jobs and a more secure future for millions of American workers and taxpayers."
