Byline: The Register-Guard

Thurston's Levi Bedortha shot a 73 to win a seven-team Midwestern League golf tournament at Springfield Country Club, but it wasn't enough to push the Colts to the top as Marshfield combined to shoot 308 for top team honors.

The Pirates' Matt Murray, Willamette's Mark Ingram and Churchill's Scott Wiley shot 75 to finish tied for second.

Sheldon freshman Kendra Little shot a 79 to win medalist honors, and the Irish went on to win a four-team Midwestern League tournament at McKenzie River Golf Course in Springfield.

Thurston's Erica Omlid finished in third place with an 84 as the Colts combined to shoot 372. North Eugene's Julie Warren finished second with an 83.

Reedsport's Emily Vaughn shot an 80 and Aubrey Vaughn an 82 as the Warriors combined to shoot 386 to win a nine-team tournament at Forest Hills golf course in Cornelius.
