PHILOSOPHY Making its debut for Christmas is Philosophy's State Of Grace solid perfume trio - and what a great gift this is. Taking three of the brands most popular scents - Pure Grace, Amazing Grace and Baby Grace - the convenient travel size sets are ideal for carrying in your handbag. The State of Grace trio costs pounds 36 and Philosophy is available from Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Sephora at Merry Hill.

BOBBI BROWN - BABY Fans of Bobbi Brown can now get their hands on her latest fragrance, Baby, at House of Fraser. The US make-up guru wanted to create a smell that reminded her of babies - and this certainly does. Perfect for women who want to stay young at heart, it is fresh and clean, and combines orange flower petals, melon, peach and white lilies. Baby costs pounds 30.

TOUCH OF PINK - LACOSTE For something fresh, fun and fruity, try A Touch of Pink by Lacoste. Combining a burst of blood orange and coriander with jasmine and violet, it's a thoroughly modern yet feminine scent. Available from Beatties and other department stores, prices start at pounds 30 for 50ml, pounds 38 for 90ml. A gift set is also on offer and includes a 90ml fragrance and full size body lotion for pounds 38.

BEYOND PARADISE - ESTE LAUDER With a host of intriguing ingredients - many obtained in partnership with the Eden Project - Estee Lauder's zesty Beyond Paradise will definitely stir the senses. A favourite of Britney Spears, it's packed with such fascinating ingredients as Eden's Mist, orange flower templar, Brazilian jabuticaba fruit, orchid and zebrano wood. From pounds 27.50 for a 30ml spray and available at Estee Lauder counters.

HN - HARVEY NICHOLS Already boasting a legion of fans, HN for Women is as gorgeous as it is exclusive. Only available at Harvey Nichols stores - including our very own Birmingham one - this sexy scent is made up of bergamot and mandarin mixed with anis star oil and coriander for a contemporary feel. The 100ml eau de toilette is pounds 50 and a coffret gift set is available for pounds 95.

PURE POISON - DIOR The original Poison appealed to a certain type of gal. Potent enough to take out a charging elephant, there was always a danger of it wearing you. Pure Poison, pounds 27 for 30ml, is a very different beast. With jasmine, orange blossom, gardenia and sandalwood, it packs a distinctive punch on the first spray, before settling down into a blossomy scent.

Available from Beatties and other department stores.

TROUBLE - BOUCHERON New on counters is Boucheron's Trouble. From the company renowned for its fine jewellery, this modern fragrance is both fresh and oriental. Its bright notes of citron and foxglove are teamed with jasmine, may blossom and amber. The bottle is just as striking, with bevelled edges, ruby glass and a golden snake on the neck. Available at just nine stores in the UK, including Birmingham's House of Fraser, it costs pounds 42 for 50ml.

STELLA - STELLA McCARTNEY My favourite for the season is Stella McCartney's Stella. This evocative fragrance will bring back memories of summer gardens with its top note of rose essence fused with peony. Vintage and edgy, it's at the top of my Christmas list. New for the festive season is the heavily scented room candle. Stella costs from pounds 27 for 30ml, while the limited edition candle is pounds 24. Available from House of Fraser.

CINEMA - YSL Cinema is the latest fragrance from couture giant Yves Saint Laurent, and its glittering gold packaging is perfect for this time of the year.
