Beauty: How can I get it right?; Chop chop! Time to transform baby-faced Adele into a sophisti- cut.

Liverpool university performing arts student Adele Millward, 20, was desperate to change her hair. `I'd love something funkier and more grown-up,' she wrote. `I keep getting mistaken for a 15-year-old!' M's canny cutter Hugo convinced Adele to go for the chop, saying a sharper, chin-length style would suit her more. `Adele's long hair isn't doing her any favours. She's got a fantastic jawline and face shape, which is currently being swamped. She'll look much sassier and more grown-up with a modern, edgy cut.' So Hugo cut a sharpish, razored bob with a long sweeping side fringe.

Next, colour whizz Sharon used a rich chestnut and a panel of blonde to accentuate the face-hugging cut.

M's make-up expert Firyal chose coppery tones to complement her new hair colour. `I used a soft gold on the lid, a bronze in the crease and a black liner and mascara to give sharper definition,' said Firyal. Terracotta blusher accentuated Adele's bone structure, and the lips were glossed with a clear, bronze pink.

ADELE'S VERDICT: `A grown-up look at last!'
