Beard we go!

WHISKER it, but a Birmingham bar boss has had a very close shave - for a very worthy cause.

David Whittall, who runs Digbeth's Suki 10c bar, had his bushy beard lopped off, with the sponsored event raising PS250 for Acorns Children's Hospice.

David had spent a year cultivating the whiskers ready for the charity cut.

David said: "My heart goes out to those children and families needing the assistance of Acorns. What the hospice provides is immeasurable."

Acorns' community fundraising manager Leonie Hudson said: "David's clean shave was a great way to start 2013, and we hope that others will help us raise vital funds to carry on our essential job of providing all Acorns children and families with the specialised care and support they need."
