Bear, bamboo, and bird statues displayed in tribute to 'APEC 2015'.

A statue of a bear, a bamboo, and a bird donated by delegates from the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit are now among the lasting reminders of the recently concluded international event in Metro Manila.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) disclosed these were the latest addition in the monument park in front of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

The bear, which served as the symbolic animal of Russia, was a gift from the Russian APEC contingent, while the bamboo shoot, which represents overcoming adversity, was given by the Vietnamese group.

Meanwhile, members of the dignitaries from Papua New Guinea, presented the country with a sculpture of a Cassowary, a flightless bird native in their country.

"These sculptures will be displayed along with other APEC sculptures on APEC garden fronting the PICC," DOT said in its official Twitter account.

The statues were placed at the PICC grounds yesterday during an unveiling ceremony attended by Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez.

It was among the last activities organized by the APEC National Organizing Council (ANOC) for the international event.
