Bayer's (Monsanto).

A California jury awards $2,055 billion to a couple who blamed Bayer's (Monsanto) Roundup for causing their cancer. It's the largest such verdict to date and is the third straight trial loss for Bayer over the safety of Roundup. Bayer has appealed the first case, a $78.5 million verdict reached last August, and has said it would appeal the second, a more than $80 million jury award decided in March.

Bayer announces that it also will appeal the verdict in this case, which conflicts directly with the U.S. EPA's interim registration review decision, the consensus among leading health regulators worldwide that glyphosate is not carcinogenic, and 40 years of extensive scientific research.
