Byline: CHARLOTTE WARD Showbiz Editor

EASTENDERS actress Michelle Ryan put on a bold front last night as she arrived at the British Soap Awards in a revealing black dress.

Curvy Michelle, who plays Zoe Slater, was practically bursting out of her top as she attended the awards at BBC Television Centre in London.

Footballers wife Sheree Murphy, who played tragic Trisha Dingle in Emmerdale, also opted for maximum impact in a metalic silver dress with plunging neckline. In contrast, soap newcomer Patsy Kensit wore a conservative black trouser suit.

But it waswas Charlie Brooks, who plays EastEnders megabitch Janine Evans, who really stole the show in a stunning shimmery pink ballgown oozing Hollywood glamour. Dozens of actors and actresses turned out last night to celebrate the best of British soap.

Coronation Street and EastEnders were battling it out for the esteemed title of best British soap. The rival shows went head to head for all the main awards.
