Bassil from Tehran: We have military, mental powers to uproot terrorism.
NNA - Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Gebran Bassil, said on Sunday, during a joint press conference from Tehran with top Iranian officials, that Lebanon and Iran have the "military and mental powers" to deracinate terrorism which threatens the world. Bassil met on his second day visit to Iran with Top Advisor for International Affairs of the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President of Expediency Discernment Council's Center for Strategic Research, Ali Akbar Velayati. The Lebanese Minister hailed Lebanon and Iran as "resistant countries." He dubbed combating terrorism as Lebanon's primary responsibility. "Our second responsibility is developing our people...and this is what we are coming to after Iran succeeded in ushering in a new phase that allows it to offer to the world its grand capabilities." In turn, Velayati said that Lebanon fell on the route of resistance which began from Iran and extended through Iraq and Syria. He hoped that circumstances would soon allow the Lebanese to elect a president. Following the press conference, Bassil convened with Secretary of the Supreme Council of National Security, Admiral Ali Shamkhani. ===========R.Z.
