Bassil: We are in constant action to recuperate rights.

NNA - Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil on Friday maintained that the Free Patriotic Movement would stay in constant action until rights and equality were recuperated. "It is our right to reply to what Prime Minister Tammam Salam had said when he described us as impolite," Bassil told a news conference today. "Yesterday, we were trying to show our position peacefully but they did not stand it," he said. "Our issue today is constitutional. Article 92 speaks of the powers of the president of the republic, which required discussing the suitable mechanism when vacuum is," he continued. "The cause is that some are taking advantage of the president's absence to tamper with his powers," he indicated, refusing that those powers be undermined. "The president of the republic in entitled to modify the Cabinet session's agenda in agreement with the Prime Minister," he maintained. "If we accept what is happening, then we are accepting the failure to elect a president. And I say it succinctly that they do not want to elect a president," he added. ============R.A.H.
