Baskin-Robbins offers Double Header.
The new offering carries a suggested retail price of $2.22 for one 2.5 oz. hard ice cream scoop and one 2 oz. soft serve serving. Customers can opt to fill both sides of the cone with either hard ice cream or soft serve, although individual stores may charge more for such a serving.
"Baskin-Robbins is thrilled to provide customers a fun new way to enjoy even more flavor combinations," said Srinivas Kumar, Chief Brand Officer for Baskin-Robbins. "The Double Header is what Baskin-Robbins is all about-ice cream variety. Choosing just one of our 31 flavors can be a difficult task. This fun cone lets customers choose their favorite flavor and try something new, like adding smooth and creamy Soft Serve. With so many possible flavor combinations, we are sure the Double Header cone will bring twice as much joy to ice cream lovers and at a great value."
Baskin-Robbins claims it is the only national ice cream chain to offer both soft serve and hard ice cream. The company reports that it conducted a survey in collaboration with Insight Express that found more than half of Americans cannot decide between traditional hard ice cream and soft serve, which led the company to the idea for the Double Header cone.
