Basketball player Lin admits phenomenon of 'Linsanity' went to his head.

Washington, July 25 ( ANI ): Basketball player Jeremy Lin, who was recently signed up by National Basketball League (NBA) team Houston Rockets in three-year long deal worth 25 million dollars, has admitted to a case of 'Linsanity' with his former team NY Knicks.

Lin went from being a no-name player to an international superstar overnight. He was on the brink of being waived for the third time in three months before he took New York and the basketball world by storm.

Lin admits it was only natural that the phenomenon that became known as Linsanity went to his head.

"If I'm being honest, in some ways, yes. I fought it every day. But I think subconsciously it had its effect, everyone catering to you. People were saying only good things for so long that when people said negative stuff, it was like, 'Whoa, what's going on?' " The New York Daily News quoted Lin, as saying.

For months it seemed like a forgone conclusion that Lin would re-sign with the Knicks and be their point guard of the future.

But once Lin signed a lucrative deal with the Rockets that included a third-year salary of 14.9 million dollars, his future in New York was suddenly in doubt. ( ANI )
