Basketball: Basketball woe.

PARALYMPICS: Great Britain's Simon Munn admitted his wheelchair basketball team were made to pay for a nightmare start in their opening match of the Visa Paralympic World Cup in Manchester.

The Paralympic Games bronze medallists came within five points of a dramatic comeback against Australia after falling 23-8 behind, but still went down 56-51.

"We thought it would be easier than it was and unfortunately suffered from a tentative start,"

said Munn, who top scored for Great Britain with 22 points.

There were mixed fortunes for the Great Britain women's team as they saw off Spain 34-24 in their opening game before crashing to a 43-26 defeat at the hands of favourites Japan.
